ABOUT ME

My name is Kim Weinreb and I am the mother of a 23 year old son who had a stroke prior to birth which left him with a myriad of diagnoses and significant delays and needs.

I was the co-founder of Georgia Therapy Moms, a support group in Douglasville, Georgia, dedicated to helping families w/children who had special needs. I also helped bring Special Pops Tennis & Challenger Baseball programs to Douglas County.

I spent 12 years as the parent support group leader at ClearWater Academy while my son attended the school.

When my son was around 12 years old, I started researching things that needed to be done for him as he got older. Waivers, SSI, housing, camp, etc. We all know that once you leave the school system, you fall off a cliff into the unknown.

Over the last 5 years I’ve been hosting one-on-one & group transition meetings for parents & my goal is to help guide parents as they begin the journey to ensure their child can transition into adult services.
